The CMSG exists to facilitate development of subgroups tackling each of the separate areas of musculoskeletal disease. The following list of topic categories includes areas of all musculoskeletal conditions included under the CMSG scope: back pain, gout, lupus erythematosus, neck pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, pediatric rheumatology, rheumatoid arthritis, soft tissue conditions [fibromyalgia, upper limb conditions, lower limb conditions], spondylo-arthropathy, systemic sclerosis and vasculitis.

Topics are arranged under the scope categories, and are based on suggestions by health care professionals, consumers and review authors, and on some of the trials which have been identified to date. This is not a complete list and further development of topics is underway.
